Lavali was furious to discover her husband was following Jesus. But God worked in her heart and today the entire family knows Jesus as Savior!Peace in Jesus
Lavali couldn't believe it when her
husband said he was following Jesus...
Clutching a chicken, Lavali grimly marched to the temple.
Her husband had accepted Christ through his Adult Literacy Class. Now, Lavali worried that the gods would curse her family.
She glanced down at the struggling brown chicken. Well, she was going to do her part to ward off evil spirits and disease - she was going to sacrifice this chicken!
Later, Lavali herself was invited to join an Adult Literacy Class. “No,” she said. “I do not want people to try to convince me to follow Jesus.”
But as she saw her neighbors begin learning to read and write, Lavali decided to enroll.
In class, Lavali listened carefully to her teacher.
Gradually, Lavali was introduced to the Gospel.
One night, as Lavali and her classmates prayed in the dim light of the kerosene lamp, she began to weep. Lavali confessed her sins before God and accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. She stopped worshipping the idols she used to worship.
“After attending the Adult Literacy Classes, I have received amazing peace in my life that I have never felt before,” Lavali says, smiling.
Lavali and her husband are both able to read the Bible now. They are teaching their son and two daughters about Jesus.
Today, Lavali and her husband are vibrant Christians, and they passionately preach the Gospel to villagers. Pray that through their witness, many more people will come to Christ.
