Pooja had no reason for joy, until she came to a Children's Bible Club
14 May 2009
Pooja was carrying a lot of responsibility on her shoulders for a 10 year old.
Her mother was too ill to take care of the house and children, and Pooja’s father worked long hours as a tailor.
Pooja was the oldest girl so it fell upon her to cook, clean and look after her brothers and sisters.
As you can imagine, Pooja’s life was a mix of dull, routine tasks and physical exhaustion.
A Children’s Bible Club introduced in her village offered Pooja a welcome diversion!
The singing, games and Bible stories were a joyful interruption to her daily work. She listened carefully to God’s Word, understanding fully that Jesus wanted to be her Saviour.
Pooja asked the club leader to teach her how to pray for her mother’s healing.
Pooja’s parents were curious about the changes they were seeing in their daughter but didn’t mind her going to church each Sunday.
Pooja talks often about Jesus with her parents and is praying that they too will accept Him as their Lord. She says she trusts that Jesus will heal her mother and bring joy to her whole family.
