Prayer brings healing!

Boy's faith in the power of prayer changes his whole family

Jayesh trusted Jesus to heal his mother - now his whole family follows Christ!

5 October 2009

Jayesh’s mother fell down, foaming at the mouth. She had been bitten by a snake. The villagers applied traditional herbal remedies but nothing was working. Jayesh’s mother stopped moving, and people began to say she was dead.

Terrified, 11-year-old Jayesh ran as fast as he could to Miriamma, the woman who conducted Christian prayer meetings in his village. In his Children’s Bible Club Jayesh had heard about Jesus’ miraculous healings ... could Jesus heal his mother?

Jayesh grabbed Miriamma’s hand and led her to his mother. They both began earnestly praying. Miraculously, Jayesh’s mother opened her eyes. She was alive! All the villagers who had believed Jayesh’s mother was dead were amazed!

Jayesh eagerly accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. He boldly shared his testimony with the boys and girls in his Bible Club.

But one morning a few weeks later, Jayesh woke up unable to speak. The superstitious villagers thought a spell had been cast on Jayesh. They told him to see a witch doctor, but he refused. Miriamma fasted and prayed over the boy for 24 hours.

In a dream that night, Jayesh saw an old man come to him and write the name of Jesus on his tongue. The next morning, Jayesh excitedly ran to his mother, longing to tell her about the dream. To his astonishment, Jayesh discovered that he had regained his ability to speak!

Jayesh’s whole family accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour as a result of the miracles God worked in Jayesh and his mother. Many villagers are eager to know more about Jesus because of their testimony.
