Set free from prostitution!
Trapped in darkness, Suhia discovers hope in Jesus
Suhia praises God today for freeing her from a degrading life in prostitution.20 August 2009
Suhia’s father died when she was just 15. His death left her as the sole provider for her two younger sisters.
There were few job options for a poor, illiterate girl like Suhia. So, out of desperation, she became a prostitute.
For 20 years, Suhia was trapped in the demoralising and demeaning world of prostitution. Her two sisters eventually sold themselves as well.
They had no hope for a different life - or a better life.
Then Suhia met a Mission India Church Planter named Omkar.
She couldn’t read, so Omkar patiently read to her from the Bible and answered all of her questions about Jesus.
He encouraged her to pray and ask Jesus to come into her life.
Today, Suhia is a follower of Jesus. She shared the Word of God with her sisters - and they also became Christians!
All three women left prostitution, and Suhia is supporting herself on modest wages from her job at a local factory.
She says she is thankful to God for rescuing her from the destructive, sinful life she had been trapped in for so long.
