Living in fear

Word spread quickly through the village - a curse had been cast on Sadavir...

In India, a class of church planters gather for classroom instruction. Church planters alternate their training time between instruction and field evangelism.

Sadavir lived in constant fear for his life — ever since he heard that someone had cast a curse on him and his family.

He didn’t go to work. Sadavir hardly ate any food, and he avoided his family during the day. His parents and wife tried their best to counsel him to eat and return to work.

But Sadavir was terrified he would die or that some dreadful disease would be inflicted on his wife and their two children.

Sadavir’s wife was very worried about him. She sought the advice of a Mission India Church Planter named Kamya who was visiting their house.

Soon, Kamya started visiting with Sadavir early every morning, praying for him and sharing the Word of God. Sadavir did not seem to be listening at first. But Kamya did not give up.

Eventually, Sadavir experienced a change of heart. For the first time, Sadavir realized that he didn’t have to be afraid of the powers of witchcraft as a child of God.

Sadavir accepted Christ into his heart! He went back to work — this time without fear. Sadavir’s wife is encouraged to see that her husband is not only back to his usual self, but that he is also full of a new joy!

Now Sadavir attends church, and he recently professed his faith in God through baptism.
