Report on the visit to the UK of Co-Director of India Ministries!
It was a privilege to have our India Co-Director, Kamala, visit the UK during September and take part in a series of special meetings under the title of “God’s Time For India”.
During her 10-day stay we travelled nearly 2,000 miles in the hire car (that’s around half-way to India on an aeroplane!) and visited 8 venues in England and Wales to share about the work of Mission India. It was a delight to be joined at 5 venues by my brother, Richard, who brought challenge and encouragement through music and song, and by Lawson Spiller at the event in Torquay.
In addition we were involved in an exciting gathering in London, where around 40 people based in the UK, but with a ministry link to India, joined together at the Indian YMCA Hostel to share experiences and learn how we could better serve the nation of India through our different charities and Christian ministries.
Numbers at the “God’s Time For India” meetings were a little lower than anticipated but no one who heard Kamala speak failed to be impressed with her passion and commitment for the ministry, as well as amazed and inspired by her personal story and testimony. It was such an honour to have Kamala with us, and hear the latest news and encouragements from India, as well as bring a focus on Literacy and attempt to raise essential funds for this incredibly significant programme.
Within the “God’s Time For India” meetings, Kamala shared the latest needs for the Literacy work and told us that the demand from our Indian partners continues to be strong - yet this year we were only able to fund a third of the requested classes. In view of this we decided to try and raise sufficient funds for 1% of the requested classes and set ourselves the ambitious goal of reaching the £36,000 required over the time Kamala was in the UK. We should know the total amount by the end of October, once all the gifts and pledges have come in, though it will be a ‘mini-miracle’ to have reached that large target! Nevertheless, whatever is raised will be sent to provide key additional resources so more men and women can receive the gift of literary - and also the gift of salvation, through Jesus!
Often during the ‘chat show’ element within the meetings, Kamala would say ‘Jaymaseeki’, which in Hindi means ‘Praise the Lord’! There was indeed much to give thanks to God for during her visit, and we praise Him for his faithfulness in giving us physical stamina and spiritual energy during the tour, and the opportunity to share with others what He is doing in India today through our ministry.

Director Tim Cutting was able to visit Belfast during March and have the opportunity to speak at a number of meetings and events.
The first gathering on the Friday evening was at Belfast Bible College where a small number of guests and College students heard Tim share the latest news on Mission India and ways the ministry is progressing and making such an impact.
On Saturday there was an informal, afternoon 'drop-in' meeting at the Common Grounds cafe, based within the City Church. In the evening Tim attended a special meeting of a group from Glenabbey Church who pray for the Persecuted Church. Here Tim was able to share general information on India, and give some details on the latest situation in Orissa and elsewhere.
Although this was the first ever visit by Tim to promote Mission India in Northern Ireland, wherever he went he received an extremely warm welcome and it proved to be a positive experience for all concerned. (NB. Thanks to all those who hosted events, and provided hospitality over the weekend.)
It is hoped the new contacts made will result in further opportunities to make the work of Mission India more widely known in the Provence. If you missed this visit, or would like to talk with Tim about future trips he hopes to make, contact him on his direct line number.
