Crucified for me?
Thief embraces message of forgiveness
By the age of 25 Santosh had been arrested for stealing more times than he could remember.
During one of his periods in jail a visiting evangelist shared the Good News of Jesus with a group of prisoners, including Santosh.
Santosh ignored the message, but the evangelist left behind a Bible.
Out of sheer boredom Santosh began reading the Scriptures. He became curious about the idea that he was a sinner - and that only Jesus Christ could offer him forgiveness.
Soon after Santosh’s release from jail a Mission India Church Planter called Anju, happened to visit his home.
Santosh asked her whether a thief like him could truly be forgiven. She showed him the story in Luke 23 of the thief on a cross next to Jesus.
Anju explained that Jesus freely offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him.
Santosh accepted Jesus as his Savior and turned his back on his former life as a thief.
He shared his testimony with his parents and sister, who are also following Jesus today. They are asking for your prayers as they prepare to be baptised as a family.
