September 2010 Prayer & Praise for India

  • Lord, is not often that we can pray for enemies of the Gospel in India by name. But today we pray for a miracle of transformation in the lives of Ramappa, Venkatesh, and Naraya, Hindu extremists who are harassing the local literacy classes every day. You long to see them surrender their lives to you. We pray for such a miracle soon!
  • Lord, we know the ministry work is hard in the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir. The ongoing border dispute with Pakistan casts a dark, dangerous shadow over daily life. Our partners there report: “Every day there is firing and curfew has been imposed all over the state. Life has come to a stand still.” Enable your people to continue courageously planting the seeds of peace in this region, Father.
  • Lord, we ask that you strengthen Kamu, a new believer from Gujarat, as she faces severe opposition from her husband for attending Adult Literacy Classes. We pray for her husband’s transformation.
  • Today we pray for the teams who will be training the Year Long Children’s Bible Club leaders this month in various parts of India. Give them an infectious passion for reaching the children of India with the Gospel!
  • Thank you for the gifted members of the communications team in India, and their passion for telling the stories of lives transformed for you, Jesus. Focus their hearts and minds as they seek out stories and photos that will best communicate the power of your Holy Spirit at work in India.
  • Thank you, Saviour, for the micro-business skills taught during the literacy classes that are blessing the life of a student in Tamil Nadu. Garani has started a small business selling products in the local village. Lord, we pray you will enable her to steward her income wisely and grow her business steadily.
  • Lord, be with the ministry staff in India as they meet with potential partners for the 2011 Church Planter Training programme. Give them discernment to select partners that share our vision for a vibrant worshipping group in every community in India.
  • Father, we are full of praise as we think of the way you are mightily at work transforming India’s people for your glory! We think of the new believers all across India: 19 in Maharashtra, 4 in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Jammu and Kashmir, 6 in Karnataka, 39 in Tamil Nadu, and 41 in Pondicherry.
