Ramesh was selfish.

He wasted his money on alcohol and had little concern for his family’s wellbeing.

But he always offered sacrifices to the goddess of his tribal village. Everyone feared her and sought protection from the dangers of the surrounding jungle.

When Ramesh was invited to enrol in a year-long Adult Literacy Class he was glad to take advantage of the opportunity. He learned to read and write...

Children's Bible Club changes an unruly boy

Twelve-year-old Raju was a petty thief.

He had a quick mind and did well in school…when he bothered to attend!

But he preferred to spend his days with his friends, wandering the streets and looking for opportunities to steal.

Raju’s parents tried to discipline him, but even after he was caught stealing from a nearby home they could not get him to obey or change his ways...

Thief embraces message of forgiveness

By the age of 25 Santosh had been arrested for stealing more times than he could remember.

During one of his periods in jail a visiting evangelist shared the Good News of Jesus with a group of prisoners, including Santosh.

Santosh ignored the message, but the evangelist left behind a Bible.

Out of sheer boredom Santosh began reading the Scriptures...

Meeting the little girl's physical needs was enough of a struggle for the grandmother on her meagre wages. She was too overwhelmed and exhausted to offer Prasanna love and affection too...

A Children's Bible Club in a slum in south India has been temporarily suspended after a fire struck for the second time in six months.

Our ministry partner serving in the poor community reports that 150 slum residents' huts were destroyed in the blaze.

Families of 70 children in the Children's Bible Club were among those who lost their homes and meagre belongings....
